2017 Stick Advice

Today I broke my 2016 1s and now I only have 1 stick. It's the newest 1n (2016). I like it but feel there is a better stick out there for me. My favourite sticks of all time are the 1s, 2015 1x, ultra tacks and reckoner. I have a game and practice tomorrow and multiple skates throughout the weekend and I don't trust myself with only 1 stick so tomorrow I will be buying another stick. This will probably be my main stick to start the season as my 1n is decently worn out. I know the 2017 1s,...

Hello, First post.

I realise this is a dangerous question to ask on a forum, where N+1 is the common answer.

I know that basic research and your own preference comes into play, but I did want to see if there were any obvious things I'm missing, and should consider next time round, and what feedback I should look out for when playing.

Hi all - any help on what stick to get next after my Grays GX-7000 standard would be appreciated.

Position played: combative holding/pivot midfielder
Budget: <£200

Style of Play: distributor, short and long; strong first touch; powerful tackler
Do you hit/slap or push more? varied distance push & slaps

Anyone tried Rage Hockey?

Hi all. I am looking at the option of the Rage sticks for my next purchase/sponsorship.
Has anyone played with their latest sticks and would be able to give a review? I played with the Red and Gold rage sticks when they first came out years ago, but not tried any of the new stuff.
Last season I played with the KABO Bruce and the Mercian 1.0.
Any advice would be most appreciated.

I'd settle for a Maxi, but ideally a Hook.
Both come in a Standard profile.

This stick design is approx 10 years old, but i'm much older still and having tried a few newer sticks I would rather buy used to get something I'm familiar with.

Grays GR and KN ranges

I'm looking at getting a ProBow Xtreme and it's a minefield of meaningless acronyms.

I've "narrowed" down to 4.

GR 7000 (£120)
GR 8000 (£134)
GR 11000 (£170)
KN 8000 (£170)

But, what are the real differences....

The GR1100 is a similar price to the KN8000 at retail, but has a £50 greater RRP. However, the KN is meant to be the more 'premium' range. If you look at the grays website at the specs, the only different between the two is the balance point (which varies by individual stick...

I want to start this review by saying that I am not a fan of the octogrip handle, from speaking to people either you love it or hate it I have yet to have anyone say its "ok" or "alright", but part way through I put a chamois over grip on and i couldn't feel the corners on the octogrip any more, I have heard the same with the Grays cushion grips as well.

Hi there,

As a non-playing hockey Dad , I'm looking for options/ideas/views on sticks suitable for my 12 year old daughter. My daughter plays Div. 1 hockey in Brussels and is pretty darn good in my heavily biased opinion :)
She certainly takes her hockey seriously and plays 3 to 4 times a week with a lot of solo practise on tomahawks, penalty corner hits and is also begining to learn to drag flick.

Hi, I am a RB/RM I am looking at buying a new stick that is under £200. However, I am not sure what stick to get my current stick is a Grays GX8000 dynabow but I want to move away from grays and to a different brand. I ideally want a low bow or extreme low bow stick. Any suggestions?

Wow what a mouthful of a title.

Disclaimer, I have recently switched from my very lovely Mazon deal to join Team JDH, so take what I say with a pinch of salt if you wish, however I will try and keep things as honest as possible here.
