Panthera Hockey Sticks Review

The nice guys at Exclusive Hockey sent me 3 Panthera sticks to review:

Breakthrough Valiant – 90% Carbon, Extreme low bow, 24mm at 200mm

Breakthrough Brave – 90% Carbon, Low bow, 22mm at 200mm

L2 – 80% Carbon, Extreme low bow 24mm at 200mm

I am going to give a general review of all 3 but I will make some special notes as well.

Which stick do you dragflick with?

I'm currently using an Extra Low Bow to dragflick with but I was recently told that a few international players use a Low Bow to dragflick and that they even prefer it over a concave, I'm assuming they meant for the whole game not just for dragflicks but I was wondering what some of the people who dragflick here prefer. If you want to give reasons feel free and if you want to give some advice please go ahead! I've added the standard bow just to see if there is anyone who consistently...

The first touch on this stick is actually really nice, if you have read my other reviews I personally lean towards a high carbon stick for that instant responsive feel. This stick being a 70% carbon stick I was not expecting the level of responsiveness that it offered. That said the lower level of carbon made this stick very forgiving of being heavy handed in...

I am on the hunt for a new stick. Anyone tried these? Some these models are listed on EBay for decent price.I play in midfield so looking for a stick which will handle some abuse.

Used TK sticks in the past but fed up with original grip coming loose. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Osaka Pro Bow or Mid Bow

Can any Osaka stick owning folk help with the my osaka stick choice….between the Osaka Pro Tour Silver Mid Bow Composite Stick and the Osaka pro tour gold Pro Bow composite stick. I believe the pro bow is between the mid and low bow. I play defence and mainly do (hit, slaps hits, deceptive slap hit and ariels). Would it be worth moving to the pro bow or sticking with the mid bow or will there really be much difference?

Mazon Black Magic Slingshot

Hi all,

I recently took delivery of my new Mazon gear, and I thought I'd give the sticks a few tests before writing this review for fairness. The stick is the Mazon Black Magic Slingshot X-bow, in 37.5, with a 40cm balance point, and a 515 gram weight.

Please note I am part of Team Mazon, but I will keep my review as honest as possible.

First of all, I was able to pick my weight and balance point from a lost of sticks, so I was able to get the stick perfect to me.

New Grays stick

Hi there,
I've just got a sponsorship with Grays and I'm wondering what stick would best suit me. Personally, the best stick that I ever had was a Dita EXA700 before they stop making it a few years a go, but now I find some many sticks too stiff. I was just hoping someone could put me in the direction towards the stick most like Grays stick to the old EXA 700 I'd be hugely grateful.

Unidentified Mercian Stick vs Gryphon Striker

Hi There

Have just won a stick in a raffle at an end of season party!

The stick says that it is a Mercian, M-tek, evolution 2, Pro, 85% Carbon, low bow. It has a carbon braid type effect all the way through the stick.

The questions I have are

1. what is this stick? Cannot find it online in any shop (but it is the end of the season)
2. Would it be a suitable replacement for the worn, but much loved, Gryphon Taboo Striker T-bone? (The bows look similar but the head is less angled)

Hi there, I used to go for the well known brands but last few seasons I swapped to mph I really enjoyed the stick, which got me wondering, what other brands are out there?

Now I really enjoy mph and am currently looking at getting a new one, however I was wondering if anyone would recommend any other brands, perhaps seen as smaller ones?

Oooh a mysterious title, how fun!

Just a little public service announcement, the Ritual Revolution Specialist is coming and its incredible!

I have the pleasure of knowing some high ups at Barrington sports, one of which gets to test all the prototypes that get sent to him. He tends to test them at training, but doesn't let us mere mortals have a go :(

Fortunately for me, my trusty Osaka snapped in half at training, leaving me stickless and in need, which is where things got interesting....
